Developed to complement our upper yoke and manufactured using the same proven technology as our GP range.
Technical description
-
As used in modern GP and SBK racing, the handlebar and steering plate are clamped using an Allen bolt system. This allows a continuous 14° rotation of the handlebars, from the standard position through to a full race setting.
This design improves rider safety and makes set-up adjustments in the pit lane quicker and easier, both during fork removal (as the clip-ons remain fixed to the top yoke) and when altering the clip-on opening angle. -
A front-mounted, truncated cone cuff-to-stub coupling system, derived directly from GP applications, has been adopted to deliver maximum rigidity while keeping external bulk to a minimum.
An added benefit of this solution is that it allows the full length of the stub to be used for mounting controls. -
A pre-defined collapse section is incorporated to prevent excessive load being transferred to the fork leg in the event of stub failure during a crash, helping to avoid irreparable damage to the internal fork hydraulics.
-
The clip-on bar is also fitted with an anti-rotation and anti-slip system. This ensures maximum safety and enables quick, accurate positioning of levers and switchgear, particularly for teams that pre-assemble controls on the stubs and may need to remove the stub from the clamp after a fall.
-
A vernier adjustment system allows precise setting of the handlebar opening angle. When used in conjunction with our upper yoke, adjustments can be recorded quickly and accurately without the need for special templates.
-
Double stainless-steel bolts are used to secure the clamp.
-
A vernier is fitted at the end of the tube, making it easy to shorten the bar to suit specific requirements if needed.
